U.S. National Interests and Strategic Objectives Pursued in Iraq at the Beginning of the Twenty First Century

In the early 21st century, foreign policy of United States (US) towards Iraq was intensifi ed and certain American national interests strategic goals were pursued in this area. The article analyses three groups objectives: political, economic geostrategic (military), which, with varying levels intensity, US government during that period. At same time, author focuses not only on declared but also those actually implemented. She outlines main (divided into vital, very important, important secondary interests) determine its strategies. Finally, effects are referred to, showing which actions have brought expected results, been effective.

Introductory Programming Languages at Australian Universities at the Beginning of the Twenty First Century

Introductory programming instructors in Australian universities are choosing the programming language they teach primarily based on a perception of industry demand. This paper examines if this perception is justifiable, and offers instructors of all programming languages an insight into the issue of academic and industry balance, now and into the future.
